Bob was a well respected person in the community and as a footballer of high standard did win many awards playing. The most prestigious being the winner of the JJ Clune Medal for Fairest and Best Player in the Great Northern National Football League in 1963. Bob lost his life working his lobster boat at the Abrolhos Islands in 1976. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
